Alright guys, i have an 89 iroc single cat, and i am getting headers very very soon (hoping to decide on which one to get before the sale ends at thunderracing.com) but, i am needing some advice...first off, i need the A.I.R tubes...second off, i have a 5.7L, and also, i am thinking of changin the heads and slappin a supercharger on it later...which ones do you guys suggest from www.thunderracing.com ?

Some people have problems with the SLP's clearing the steering column because the SLP's extend pretty far from the heads before tucking down.
This is also the same reason plugs are EASY to change with these headers. Mine are easier now than before.
5 with a normal SP socket and ratchet
2 with a normal SP socket and a crescent wrench
1 with a short socket ground down (header SP tool!)

If you are adding a supercharger later, get the SLP
1 3/4" headers. I have the 1 3/4" ones without AIR.
Try to get coated ones too. It helps keep the engine
temp down a bit, and it looks better than rusted headers!
They are not that hard to install, BUT!!! I say but because
everyone here has had bad or good experiences with
them , like 50-50. I had no problems with the headers,
but I had fitment problems with the Y pipe. I am running
SFCs, so they hit against the SFC on the P/S, causing
a slight angle to where I can't mate the Y pipe up right.
Even without any subframe connectors, some people
are still having issues with them. Just a fair warning
for ya! Good luck. You will need it. You may run into
the steering shaft issue, but I did not. I am alos using
brand new poly motor mounts. That's make a difference.
OH, and if you do run into the brake lines touching the
header, DON'T just bend them out of the way, reroute
them behind the steering shaft, closer to the master cylinder.
That way, you won't boil your brake fluid when you do WOT
passes, or beat the bag out of your car on the highway.
