EGR, AIR, SLP headers

I am looking to install my SLP headers on my 1991 Camaro. The headers were ordered without air so i can clean up that side of the motor by getting rid of the smog pump and cats. However my questions involve the egr valve can i leave this on? Pros / Cons? Will this conflict with my computer or require a new chip? looking for Speed Density experience NOT Mass Air advice any help is greatly apreciated

I don't think EGR will be a problem with headers on a TPI engine (I assumed from your name you have an L98).

I could be wrong though, I've never monkeyed with a TPI engine before.

yes just leave your egr on, it wont hurt anything, and you would have to have chip work done so you dont get an ses light.

Not having the air setup on has never set an SES for me on any of the cars i've touched, the egr doesnt have anything to do with the headers, leave it.

Sorry I forgot to mention I am playing with a TPI 350. SO I can remove all of my A.I.R and not get any codes? it only will get a code if I remove the egr. Is it worth it to upgrade to a heated Oxygen sensor when installing the headers?

correct, it is just an air pump, it has not sensors on it, and is belt driven. it will not show any codes for that. you will get a code if you remove the egr. i have headers, and i didnt bother with a heated o2, and it got just the same amount of gas mileage, plus extra power. dont bother with the heated o2
