Y-pipe question

Doesn't someone make an aftermarket y-pipe for use with the stock manifolds, that's better than the stock pipe? I thought it was SLP, but their web site doesn't show much for thirdgens.
Ideas?

You can buy the slp y-pipe separately from their header kit if you call them. I'm not sure if it will fit on to stock manifolds though (I'm pretty sure it won't). You might as well just go headers and y pipe IMHO.

MAC makes one, but honestly, i would just go with a set of header too, doesn't make any sense when the manifolds to flow for crap.

I have the hedman Y pipe on my car, but I also have their shorties. I believe the headers exit in the same place as stock, and they have the ball flanges on them. But like it was said, it would be pretty pointless to upgrade the Y and not the manifolds.

If you are trying to keep a totally stock appearing look but still want performance improvement that is the way to go. Those things flow substantially better than the stock Y. The stock pipe is more of a T than a Y pipe and its only 2 1/4" into 2 3/4" where this is 2 1/2" to 3" with a nicely joined Y.

Kewl Joe, thanks for the link. Does that y-pipe have an O2 sensor bung?

SLP makes a slew of y-pipes that are meant to retain the stock iron manifolds. Pointless though.

Im 99% sure the O2 sensor is in the manifold itself and not the Y pipe.

Yeah it's in the driver's side manifold.
