HPC coating

Anyone have any experience with HPC exhaust coating? I'm leaning more towards this over the other coatings out there.

I'm not sure how they are now but I know that a buddy of mine bought a set of headers for his pops 55 belair. He had them coated by HPCoating. Now remember this was 10 years ago. When the headers came in they looked really nice. The car at the time got washed and driven the same amount, so it wasn't that often. After 1 year the headers started showing rust and it got worse over time. HPCoating replaced the headers but eventually the same thing happened again. Maybe they've changed the way they do things now but if they are anything like they used to be, you'll have a nice set of headers for a year or so and then they will turn to crap.

Eeeekkk! I hope they've improved from ten years ago. I have a brand new edelbrock cat-back exhaust system I was thinking about having them coat before I put it on. I figured I'd go with HPC since they supposedly have a good reputation, plus they're within an hour's drive from where I live.

Ive only heard 2-3 reports from people sayin they had rust problems as above.

with ANY coating of parts its all about the PREP. You could be the best coater in the world and have the Latest and best Product on the market. 90% of the process is prep. 5% is application and the last 5% is the final process of curing and finishing.

If they offer a Good Warrenty also thats a Good Point.

That's cool that you replied to this thread Chris. I've been to your coating website, and I'm keeping you in mind for doing the work as well. The main reason I'm considering HPC is because it's only a 45 minute drive from where I live, so I don't have to worry about the shipping costs. I agree that their warranty is decent also. The exhaust I want coated is brand new, so it should get full coverage under their guarantee.

Id much rather see people goto HPC over JET HOT.

MOST places are Lifetime on NEW parts atleast with them being a local drive for you if something does happen you can just drop em off.
