My old 3" exhaust beside my new 4"

Here are some side-by-side comparisions of my old exhaust setup vs. my new.

Old:
edelbrock TES emissions legal headers into 3" Flowmaster w/ high flow cat. An 80 Series Flowmaster muffler with Hooker tips.

New:
Hooker Super Comp Long Tubes into custom 3" y-pipe into 4" Mufflex to a 4" Spintech Muffler.

New exhaust on left, old on right.

Here are the y pipes...look at the restriction on the passenger side header area of the old y pipe.

And the headers...notice how the Edelbrock ones squeeze down together at the bottom.

And the difference in size of the I Pipes.

I was just under my car yesterday and thought about how the edelbrock y-pipe really pinches the incoming pipes at the union, a giant restriction for sure. That new system should really flow.

You could climb inside use the 4'' as shelter during a storm

It makes the 3" look down right dinky.

Oh yeah, one of our members, Synapsis, used to tell people that I had a family of trolls living in mine.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but that 4 inch setup looks like it belongs on a 4th gen LS1. Is it? and do they interchange?

The setup actually was straight off a GTA (it's the elusive 1LE type R)

No...not realy...It was custom fabbed for a GTA. Bought the whole setup second hand.
