Can I expect any HP gains at all?
I am planning on installing the flowmaster 80 series catback system on my totally stock 84 Z28 L69. I am more concerned with the sound than maximum performance out of an exhaust so that is why I am going to get the flowmaster. I am a little curious on whether or not I will notice any kind of horsepower gains. I am probably going to install a K&N filter too. Remember, this engine is totally stock, 85,000 original miles, automatic. Just did the normal tune up(plugs, wires, cap/rotor) and like i said, i'm not worried about all kinds of horspower gains. I tried to ask this question at the camaroz28.com message boards and only a few tried answering my question until it turned out to "just get a 350 dropped in there..." I DONT CARE! I just want a nice sounding reliable cruiser and just want to know if any more power will be had with the flowmaster and k&n setup. Thanks guys, i hope you're not like some of the people on the other message board.

not sure if the cat back will make noticable improvements, but match that exhaust with some headers, then you will definitely feel a difference.

You will see some gains. They may be too small for the butt dyno to pick up on them but they are there. A few before and after track runs should help put that to rest. Adding headers will really wake up your car.

Which 80 series are you going to use? They make 2 different ones. The regular 80 that you hear on most 3rd gens and then there is the 53083 that comes with the American Thunder setup I just got. Sounds totally different. I used to despise 80s until I heard one of these things. I love mine.
