LT1 4th gen header work??

Hey guys I was thinking and arn't 4th gens about the same dimensions as 3rd gens on the bottom and all??. Alot of people use the cat back so is it possible to use there headers also?? Cause the LT1 has the same bolt pattern on the head for the headers and if it works then we coudl buy long tubes with a y-pipe... Any input??

They won't work the same way cat-backs will. Firewall and frame rail clearances are much different between the generations. It is just easier to use a set of 3rd gen headers.

It depends, the engine bay is significantly different, but I have run across some shorties that bolt up and clear in a 3rd gen, but you’d have to go totally custom with the y-pipe…

Not a chance, the bottom of the engine bay/K-member is where most of the difference is. you could stash 2 turbos between the k-member and firewall or a big turbo in front of the k-member on a 4th gen and there isn't any chance in hell that you're going to find that much room in a 3rd gen

why would you want to risk it on something so expensive? mufflex makes a y-pipe for the Hooker 2210 longtube headers for out cars, why not just run that?

My cars a stick and the hooker have to many mixed answers on if it will work, also I don't really care for how the one tube is removeable, and the price is just ridiculous compared to the hedmans...
