My car sounds like ****. It pops and stuff when I get on it.

I had my cat taken off and now it sounds like crap. The guy at the muffler shop said it is because I took the cat off and it will get even worse if I put a louder muffler on it. What do you guys think? Does taking the cat off make it pop and crackle?

noo...sounds like maybe you have an exhaust leak...mine poppled and crackled alot with an exhaust leak....then when i hit the throttle and let off, it would fill the headers up with left over gas, and then it would ingnite from the heat, and flames would shoot out of the exhaust leaks...its actually kinda sweet, expecially at night, turn the lights off, and it lights up the road underneath you, its pretty neat
