Looking for your thoughts on the differences / advantages or disadvantages between headers compared to the new Edelbrock Tubular Exhaust System (TES).
I will be hooking up one or the other to a new ZZ4 with TPI
Thanks!

The only thing Eldelbrocks have going for them are their application specifics. They leave a lot to be desired as far as performance and design is concerned. Thier primary sizes are comprimsed and aren't a true 1 5/8". Their Y-pipe is ok but not the best in terms of flow.
The best shorty headers for our cars are the Hooker 2055's, SLP's, and Mac's. All 3 of them have great y-pipe designs without any reductions in the primaries.

Just got my car back together with the ceramic TES, Catco 3" converter and Dynomax super turbo cat back. Everything did fit up and the headers give good clearance for sparkplugs and such. Very tight fit in many places, but it does clear. Made a heat shield near the steering column for all the brake lines there. Down pipe is not near the starter so heat should not be a problem there. Sounds pretty good, really a deep sound but a little too loud for me, maybe just right for someone else. Probably a really good choice for the money, but I'm sure there is much better available. Lots of work to it and I had the engine out of the car. If I had to do over, I'd probably just leave the stock stuff on.
