Why is it important to know?

Well I have a little motor and exhaust is pretty loud and sounds like a V8 at lower Rpm. I'm kinda suprised because I've heard other V6'ers and mine seems louder and deeper. So I'm just wondering how can you tell if it's stock muffler...

Get under the car and look for a metal stamped brand name on the muffler.

stock 3rd gen mufflers growl pretty damn good for stock....my buddy's stock 305 and stock muffler sounds pretty mean, and you can definately tell its a v8...stock mufflers just lack the upper RPM noise like aftermarket ones too...the idle growl should be there tho...
