Daves12secondV6 = Doward Part II.....!
Been a member on this board for a very long time, and I gave Dave plenty of time to come clean, but he wants to do this the hard way. My friends, Dave has owed me money for quite some time. I let him borrow money (AGAINST my wife's wishes), so that his girlfriend can get a more suitable car to drive her child around in, and to ALLOW DAVE TO KEEP HIS CAMARO.....!
He chose to dodge the forums, as well as completely blow me off. Now, I've been helping Dave out by driving him EVERYWHERE! To get parts, to hang out while the Camaro was being worked on, heck I even bought the guy dinner on MANY occassions. I never asked for anything. Treated him like a man, and treated him like a friend. Well, it's time to come clean, and to tell every member here what Dave is really all about....
He LIED! NEVER ran a 12.6 second pass. The car never broke the stock barrier. He'll insist that there is a "vid" floating around, but it's somehow missing. Are you kidding me? If he ran a 12 second run, he would have laminated the time slip, and stored the run on his hard drive a hundred times. You want to see what Dave's Camaro ran that night? With his "MegaSquirt", turbo, and laptop in hand? Click here. Do you want to tell everyone here Dave how you wanted to borrow someone else's timeslip for the forums, or should I? Do you want to tell everyone how I made up the story about your intake coming off, or should I.....?
I didn't want to resort to doing this, but he's left me NO choice. Tried reaching out to him on a number of occassions, but to no avail. I've spoken to a member on LS1.com, who made me aware that he's still around. Of course, I got the "the cops are after me" crap on instant messaging last week on July 4th (the same day he last logged on). Let me tell you something about this guy. HE'S GOT A NEW BORN BABY, and would rather spend his time on the car, and his money on getting his 2500-Lb, turbo charged, 4000 stalled Camaro to break into the 17's. Had that been me, my wife would have left me long ago! PATHETIC!
If he didn't have the money, WHY NOT JUST TELL ME? I would have allowed him to pay me off $25.00 a week until the debt was paid, but no, he's gotta blow me off. Lesson well learned Doward, you taught the member's here well. I'm writing this not for me, as I already have been paid. My cousin bought Dave's debt from me, and now Dave will deal with him, in which I feel sorry for him come this Wednesday. I'm writing this because the member's here have a right to know the TRUTH, and the truth is, he's full of it! Really wanted to let this go, but my friends were right when telling me that Thirdgen.org has been EXCELLENT to me these last four years, and I've made some very wonderful friends here, and had an OBLIGATION to share this with everyone....
That being said, I received quite a few PM's about my project, and I apologize that I haven't been updating the thread lately. Work has been crazy lately, and my cousin was sort of on vacation last week (as was everyone else, I'm sure lol). Will be updating the thread very soon, I promise.....

Re: Daves12secondV6 = Doward Part II.....!
^ Pairtoe, I was shocked myself. I've been hanging out with the guy til 2:00AM, and have been neglecting MY OWN FAMILY to help him out with that damn car. Never met a more selfish individual in my whole entire life! I cannot tell you how many places I've taken him, whether car related, or just to hang out. Can't begin to tell you how much money I spent on him, in a friendly manner, in which I would never ask for back. I don't know why the heck he would blow me off! Please understand that I tried reaching out to him MANY MANY times. It's not that he's not around, he most certainly is. But he doesn't respond to me, which told me I wasn't getting my money back, and that I wasn't the friend that I thought I was.....
BTW, lemme know if you still have those Pacesetter headers....

^ Blue, I'm already in the midst of bringing this to administration's attention. Understand that I DID NOT want to resort to doing this, but you, as well as everyone else, have a right to know the truth. It would have driven me crazy had I kept my mouth shut, and then watch him start posting again as if nothing ever happened (which I doubt he will, maybe under a "new" User ID he might, as the current one was already his second one, from what he told me not too long ago). The guy's already on my ignore list, and could honestly care less what he does with himself from this point on, but again, you had a right to know. Tried reaching out to him plenty of times to no avail. He forced this. I did not want to do this, and I'm not happy, nor am I laughing about it. It was, and is, a terrible way for one to conduct themselves. I'M EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, believe me!

@ Toehead
MegaSquirt is an excellent standalone (and integrated) ECU system. I only said it like that cuz he always embellished on it so greatly, having himself convinced that it was going to propel his crank wobbling 2.8 to unkown territories, quarter mile wise. I was honestly hoping to see it happen, but once I seen what I did (his conduct), I honestly lost interest. If you carefully inspect the timing of his last post, I believe he lost interest as well, now looking to sell off his "turbo headers". Should of honestly went with a set of BBS headers before the June 30th deadline, but now I have to get my cousin to make me a set. What it is, is, when Dave saw me, he seen $$$$, and when he realized I had my doubts about him, that put an end to it....

Yeah I can understand, its just in alot of these situations there are two sides to the story and I hate being in the middle of them. Been through a couple with friends.

That's why this thread was made, to bring him out in the open, and have him explain himself. My cousin has his title. I still have every single PM (PC & the phone) that he sent me (so he can't lie). He know's he's wrong, and I want to hear what he has to say for himself....

WOW, what can I say??? I guess that just goes to show... From some of the forums I've been reading, it would seem like u 2 gentleman were close and were on the same page as to building some nice V6's... While i'm not involved, nor can I say I approve of bringing personal matters into public view like this, I understand a person's gotta do what they think is right when they have been wronged. As far as the faulty times / performance of his ride etc, I just hope this doesnt defer board members from working on their V6's. I will admit despite this 'incident', he has inspired MYSELF (and others i'm sure,) not to just 'do the V8 thing'...

^ Thought we were kinda tight myself, which is why I stated that I was shocked by his conduct. It is now apparent that he was looking to make a quick buck out of me. You see, I didn't want to bring this to the public, but like I said, had it been someone else getting screwed, I would definitely want to know about it immediately. As a member, it's your right. I'm not bad mouthing a non-member here, I'm informing all other members that I have been wronged...

Than again, last Id heard, he was running a JY 2.8. That may not be up to the standard of daily driven engines. This may have had a factor in his times.

its about some one else told the truthLast year turbo dave ran some slow times at the east coast fbody nats, Ive called him out on it once in a post on here, yes its true he has a kid. Ive also almost had him built me a motor, till a member that goes by BigAls86z28 or something like that advized me that he was going to peace together a junk motor, like a low rpm cam with high rpm heads.

Wow, Im shocked. Since I've been here, he has always been the V^ guroo, goes to show there are people who know what they are talking about and people who think they know what their talking about.
Interesting how his car that weights like 800 lbs less then mine, has engine work, and a turbo is only running 19's though, when our V6's car go between 17's and 16's stock? Or is that number way to low?

Re: Daves12secondV6 = Doward Part II.....!
Man that sucks im the same i way i have a friend who i do everything for but he never does anything to payback for all my taxi service around NJ for him.
I love how he was going to put a junk motor together.
A stock 3.1L is suppose to do 17.1 secs and he did 19. the car looked like it lost power at the 1/8 and then slowly cruized down the track.
maybe instead of him saying he did 12 secs he should just drop an LS1 in do head and cam work and he can have a 12 sec car. And if the car does weigh 2,500 then a stock LS1 with a 6 speed and firm shifting should get him into high 12's.
I say admin should edit his name and have it Daves19sLOwV6.
I havent raced my car but i would say that my 3.1L with Headers, CAI, high flow cat and 2 1/2 inch flowmaster 80 series with a quater tank of gas and my skinny self could have my car break the 17's hopefully i can get a video of this.

GM claims stock 3.1 to do 17.5, my best is 17.1 N/A with 1.6 rockers and a cat back.
I was wondering what happened to Dave. Street Lethal, have you seen my 75mm Nothstar TB and the box manifold he was supposed to send me?...

did i miss something? what happened to doward? someone can PM me the details if they don't want to post it here, but i thought he stopped posting due to some family issues. was his car not legit?
by the way, i know i am a pillar of the v6 community, so i just want to assure all of you that my 17.4 @ 73MPH second time slip is 100% legit.
(hey, if this is true my V6 car has run faster then a "12 second" car.

wow interesting i remember talking to him back when i still had my 6 shooter
a 19 with a turbo just dosnt seem right
but damn if thats the case then even a tbi v8 is better lol
my old 6 with bumped up timeing and minor free mods
would have destroyed him i belive it was running somewhere around high 16s
but alas that car decided it wanted to return to nature "rusted out"

Up until now, I will have to say, that I have made lots of transactions with Dave, and they always went well. He helped me along the way to completing my turbo system.
I just hope he finishes this last trade with me.

Re: Daves12secondV6 = Doward Part II.....!
^ First Firebird, as well as my other fellow member's. Please understand that I did not start this thread to poke fun at Dave, nor did I really want to bad mouth him, but he's left me no choice. How could somebody possibly borrow money from someone else, then just blow them completely off? There were so many things that I could of done (since I had the title), like called the police, and tell them that my car was stolen, and was sitting in some shop over in Milltown New Jersey. But I didn't. Didn't have the heart, and my wife told me NOT TO. Yes, the same person that advised me not to lend him money, didn't want to RUIN him that way....
Firebird, I believe you traded him for an Intake Manifold, right? I seen the cam that you sent him, and that manifold that he was supposed to send you was just sitting there the whole entire time we installed that MegaSquirt. I don't see why he wouldn't send you the manifold, but then again, I feel that at this point, he really doesn't need to (especially if he gave up on ThirdGen.org entirely). It's unfortunate. Some people run for cover when the crap hit's the fan (meaning whatever was happening in his life, personally). This is what seperates the MEN from the CHILDREN....
For my other fellow member's wanting a turbo kit, that's what my "BTA" project is for. The idea was to build this project together, collectively as a group. I'm not looking to sell turbo kits, like some people, I'm hoping that the build will inspire you to start the modding process yourself. So far, both turbo's cost me a little over $200.00 each. Next will be the headers, tubing, then MegaSquirt ECU, and I'm finished. I'll be running the 3.1 w/moderate boost levels, getting used to the MegaSquirt, dialing everything in, while building a 3.4 w/3500 heads on the side....

Re: Daves12secondV6 = Doward Part II.....!
Just wanted to add something for those who are still scratching their heads in total confusement. This was never Dave's car, it was his GIRLFRIEND's car. WHY DO YOU THINK HE KEPT POSTING, "It's for sale", "It's NOT for sale", "I'm parting it out", "I'm NOT parting it out", and on and on and on. It became his car almost ONE month ago when I lent him the money to purchase it. There is no way in (blank) that his girlfriend would allow him to swap motors, THAT WAS THE SAME ENGINE IN THERE WHEN HE CLAIMED THE 12.6 RUN. Believe it!
Remember a few months back? When he ran (on the other vid that I shot) with the 400 pound stereo system still being in it, and the car weighing close to 4000 pounds, with everyone not understanding why he would do something like that? It's because his girlfriend wouldn't let him remove the system from the vehicle. It was HER car at the time. She kept threatening to get rid of the car, which is why it was suddenly for sale, it wasn't for sale, it's being parted out, it's not being parted out, and on and on and on.
