Stupid Oxygen Sensors
My oxygen sensor went bad about a month ago, but I just got around to actually going to replace it the other day. When I finally got the sensor out after many hours of soaking it with PB Blaster and wrenching on it, of course the threads decided to come out with it. So, I went and bought a thread chaser to try to salvage what amount of thread was left in the pipe. When I went to put the new sensor in, not much to my surprise, I apparently cross threaded it, and messed up the threads on both the sensor and the pipe. So I rechased them, and bought another new sensor. After a few tries with the new sensor, it still wasn't going in, so I decided to stop and save this one before it got as bad as the other one. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could possibly get the sensor in? I ground all the threads off the first one I bought and JB Welded it to the exhaust, but when I accelerate hard, it actually shoots the sensor out of the pipe. So, ideas anyone, I'm open to all suggestions, and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Factory exhaust manifold or headers? If headers you can get another "bung" welded on.

Factory exhaust manifolds. I really just need the thing to stay in and not leak until I go for inspection in May, then I want to get an exhaust for the car anyway.

If you haven't done so already, try jacking up the car and get underneath it where you have better access to the O2 bung.
When I changed the O2 sensor on my car, I was just barely able to reach it from the top, and the brake booster and AIR system made it hard for me to get the socket down in there.
