Cat questions
ok, i'm thinkin of either choppin the cat con off my car. i've been told that this is good for performance, and that its also bad for performance. which is it. second, if i do chop it and just put in a straight pipe where it used to be, will the car throw code that would cause the check engine light to come on? if so, how do i get around it

Wont really loses anything with a aftermarket cat(1-3 rwhp) as long as you get a good flowing one(random or carsound). You'll lose about 10-12 rwhp if your pushing more hp like around 400+ rwhp. I would just go with a pair of good aftermarket cats and not worry about it unless your pushing a lot of power.

It is not bad for performance. It is for emissions though, if you get tested where you are located. There will be no SES light if you do this. That is on OBDII cars (1996 to current).
