New TPI Cat without tube?
Hey,
I bought a new seat of Hooker 2055's with AIR tubes, for my 91 Formula TPI... I notice the stock cat has a tube that runs up to the eninge (have not followed it). I'm assuming it connects on on of the set of tubes & the other set connects to something else...
My new cat doesn't have a tube... I read the sticky about TPI & AIR, but didn't get a good explanation of the tubes / system, just whether you should or shouldn't use it...
What is that tube for? Do I need a cat with a tube?? If not, that would be disabling half the system??
Thanks,
Rafael

that tube goes up and into the air box on the passenger side(big black box with a buch of hoses going to it) from there they go to the pump and to the manifolds. Its used to blow air into the cats to reduce emissions. Hope that helps.

I will check where my tube goes... if it goes to the manifold ( I hope it does) I can just cap it...

Thats cool man! I bet you can sneak her into a parking lot with assistance
But yeah mine was easy to take out. Only problem was trying to get the tube from the top, it was kinda tight and got stuck between the firewall and block. Maybe if you can get it high enough you can go through the bottom?

There are many things I've done myself, upgraded LCA's & Panard Bar, Bilstein Shocks, Strut Tower Brace & Wonder bar, Pro 5.0 shifter, etc... I'll probably leave the tube to the headers / exhaust / ignition system upgrade to the mechanic I will pay...
I have some vision, just not enough to get a license... My dad taught me to drive stick shift when I was 11... I've always loved cars & it's something I can tinker with...
