I put mine in yesterday... it slides in and fits better then the factory system does. Took no time to install it!

just dont freak out about the dent on the over-the-axle tube. It's supposed to be there.

mine went on pretty easy after I fixed all the previous owners hack jobs on the hangers and stuff like that., I did however have to cut the tailpipes down a little so the tips werent ten feet out the back. You can hear mine from the link in my signature, that was before I trimmed the tailpipes up and tucked the tips back in a little bit.

HAHAHA.... its so much fun saying dirty-sounding things with this Hooker system isn't it?

My fav to date is "My Hooker Stinks..."
Someone go resurrect that thread, haha

yes these hookers do stink for a little while since the coating they put on them at the factory is some nasty stuff.

yep got my hooker for 280 bucks and i hid her onder my car pretty nicely. i only had a few problems hanging her up under there other than that she slid right on. mine doesnt stink to bad. i wish she was a little louder in bed though kinda quiet. overall i am pleased with my hookers performance.

I got the Hooker kit for the '83-85 HO cars. Its a 3" system, but was only $215 at both Summit and Jegs.

My hookers were overly used. They were loose and they sure didnt bring the pleasure like a new hooker would. I guess that teaches me to stay away from the old hookers. Age plays a big factor. So after I had a long hard run with those hookers, I realized I broke a gasket

Sorry I just had to get in on this....I dont even have a v8....

My Hooker was all greasy and oily too. Everything fit nicely and slid into place easy because of that, but makes it hard to get a hold of when you are under the car. My Hooker is clean now though, not all greasy and oily and slippery now that I've rode 'er pretty hard and broke it in.

Who has the best price for a Hooker? I've got an '86 lg4 (soon to be swaped) is there a real diffrence between the 82-85 hookers and the 86-90 hookers?

I got the Hooker for '83-85 HO cars. Its $215 at both Summit and Jegs. Its a 3" system with 2.5" tail pipes. I think the only difference from the other systems is that its got a 4-bolt flange for the Corvette cat that came on those cars. I don't have a cat, so the shop just cut the flange off.

The flange for the cat is probably the only difference between the '82-85, '83-85 HO, and '86-90 systems. I don't understand the price difference though.

My hooker wouldnt go on right so i had to beat the **** out of it just to get her to stay in place. lol But seriously is the hooker 3 inch catback really that good, i hear it gives a good 15-25 horsepower increase and averages over 35 horses more with a set of headers. Is that true? The sound rocks in every clip ive heard.
