Getting New Headers

I'm just curious. For $250 CAD, I can pickup a complete header-back system.. which is an insane deal. The only problem is that the headers are Flowtech (ya.. I know) without the AIR (which my T/A uses) and the pipes are only 2.5".

I was going with the 2055 Hookers (but they're roughly $500 CAD). Now, my question is, can I get the 2046 Hooker's and bolt them up to the (I'm guessing) 1.5" Y-Pipe for the Flowtechs? If not, how do I get or bypass the AIR? Should I just sell the Flowtechs, the Y-pipe and (if I can't get it off the Y) the cat (that's welded to the Y) and pickup the 2055 system and downsize it before/after the cat (depending if I can get it off)?

you really need to be looking at a minimum of 3" for your cat back system. save and go for the hooker 2055, that comes with a superb y-pipe,. at the end of the day you get what you pay for. to be honest the header back system will probably be only slightly less restrictive than stock so save and research loads. in relation to your question. why would you buy a superb flowing headers , 2055 come with a y-pipe included in the price, and try matching it up to some crap flowing cat back system. so buy the 2055, renew your cat to a free flowing one ( or bypass it) and get a 3" cat back system.

as you probably aware there are masses of systems on the market and its really a case of preference. what sort of BHP are you pushing / what sound are you after?
