Flames From Exhaust

I want to cut off my Cat and wire a spark plug to where the Cat should be (beginning of my Y-Pipe) to make flames shoot out of the exhaust.

Has anyone done this before?

Are there better ways to do it?

Should it be done? (No I don't have a better reason to do it other than the fact that Cat off = 10hp and its a kinda cool looking thing I can do myself for $50 if not less)

i would say it would look interesting, however there are a few problems that you could run into. Probably the biggest would be the type of fireball that is going to come out of the exaust. if it is contained in the pipe than that is not to bad. but if you get a big enough poof of flame you could melt your back bumper or catch it on fire. again depending on where the exaust tips end.

I doubt your cat is stealing 10hp. Just don't ever use the flames on the street- the cops will get you SO fast.

I would never use it on the street, that would just be retarded, and my tips go past my bumper so im not worried about anything melting.

Why would u put it all the way back by your cat? Thats basically letting a fireball, if one is even made, run through half your exhaust and heat it up hotter then usual.

If you look on any old rod that has that done, its right after the muffler, before your chrome tips if u have any, and make sure you rev it nice and hard while you hit the switch. If you don't then the flame will come up and back if thre is a breeze and your bumper will be toast the first time you use it, if u rev it high enough it should put enogh pressure on it to make sure it doesnt come back at you.
