summit long tube mufflers

Has anyone ever used or heard either the summit smooth tube or the chambered mufflers. Im talking about the LONG TUBE mufflers not regular case mufflers, the catalog says they are really loud but that the chambered mufflers are a little louder. If anyone has heard these can you tell me if they sound good or bad if they sound like glass packs i dont want them. Thanks.

Chambered exhaust is pretty loud, but not rediculous. Lots of the hi-perf stuff GM make back in the '60s had chambered exhaust on it. The 302 Z/28 and 396-375hp SS cars come to mind.

the guy i bought my car from has chamberd mufflers off a 60's corvette (sidepipes, hacked up and shoved under the car...true duals) and the thing sounds SICK.
LOUD, VERY LOUD, but very nice :-D

Yes, on a side exhaust setup it will be very loud, because you can't have very much muffler... look at a repro system for the old Z28 or SS 396 cars, and you'll see how long the mufflers are on those systems. They are quite long.
