tire clearance

I just put hooker 2460 headers on my 350 in my 86 z28. It came with a y pipe but here is the problem. The y-pipe cuts into the corner of the front passenger wheel well and when you turn it hard to the right, the tire rubs up against the exhaust. I have 235R60 15 on the front. Has anybody had the same problems.

Make sure that your motor mounts aren't sagging. Sometimes people gain additional clearance with new mounts.

I have brand new motor mounts on it. I thought maybe I could go to a lower profile tire (50 or 55's).

I have the same problem with 245s, but I think I need to adjust my y-pipe to try and get more room. Now that I have 275s, it's really rubbing. Nasty. I have poly mounts already. When I twiddled my y-pipe around is when I think I started the rubbing. I've been too lazy to twiddle it some more.
