How to get tailpipes off muffler to reuse

well, my muffler fell off the other day while i was driving and it's because the connection between the intermediate pipe and the muffler broke flush against the muffler. Well, i have a flowmaster 80 series waiting in my basement for me to put on and i just found out that i have a 2.5" intermediate pipe so i am getting an adapter to fit it up to the 3" flowmaster. but back to my question. the tailpipes were replaced with the dynomax muffler by the last owner and they are in great shape. i want to pull them off and reuse them since that's $50 i don't have to spend on new pipes. anyone have any suggestions to get the tailpipes off. i got off the clamps but the indents from the clamps is holding in the tailpipes. any help it appreciated. until i get this all back together though, i am loving the tone!

Put some HEAT on it, were the Pipe and Muffler meets.

Sometimes if your lucky and using the right tip, a propane torch will get it. However you'll probably need something with more heat. If your good with a grinder you could also try to make a slice in the muffler part, aslong as it goes in of course.

Had the same problem with a Flowmaster cat back. My friend Lou used an acetelene torch, and got the junctions "cherry red". Then with some heavy welding gloves, you will be able to wiggle them apart. These pipes were dimpled from the clamps. I was amazed at how easy they came apart with alot of heat.
