Help Me Find An Exhaust
I'm having a hell of a time finding a decent exhaust system for my 1982 trans am. I went to jegs.com and looked into a Borla Exhaust but then found out that they misprinted the year and that it was only good for 1984 and newer. Im intrested in getting a duel exhaust system. If anyone can direct me to any links that have exhausts for a 1982 Trans Am it would be greatly appreciated...My car thanks you

they dont make dual systems for thirdgen's.. you will have to custom make it yourself.
it looks to me like you are just looking for a CAT BACK system..
in this case.. i would say look at
Hooker
Dynomax
MagnaFlow
FlowMaster
what engine size do you have, do you have headers or an upgraded CAT yet?

Well, there is a dual system made by Dynomax - it is semi-custom (some frabrication may be required), hangs down, puts the mufflers in a place where they don't really fit under the car, and is 2-1/4".

i have headers installed but im going to replace them with ceramic coated hooker headers. My engine is a 305 v8. It currently has a custom duel exhaust on it from the previous owner, but it has to be 20 years old.

I think I'll bring it to meineke and have them replace the pipes and mufflers. Is there anything specific I should ask for when they're replacing the pipes (like the type of metal). I want to get the best possible.

if there's gunna be a curve or turn on the pipes make sure they're mandrel bent, not crimped or cut and welded at the proper angle.... which is what you should expect if you take it there....
