bullet with flowmaster?

this may have been asked or discussed before but i didn't find it and I did do a little searching.

ok, I am running a 3" I-pipe, no cat, to a flowmaster 80 series. It is kind of loud! I want to quiet it down a little...what about adding a bullet muffler up by the driveshaft? I know that the bullets by themselves don't do too much for noise but what do ya'll think it would do going through that then to the flowmaster? I've also considered a glasspack in there but I don't know about them...

I've thought about doing the same myself. One thing that helped my noise problem was installing a set of turn-downs, just like the factory system. I was amazed on how much noise that killed.

yeah, i like the looks of the straight exit pipes, though.

anybody running just bullets that can give some idea of how much noise they killed over open exhaust?

Does it still end at the back bumper? Mine is loud now with stock tail pipes. So your telling me it will be even louder with ones that arent turn down style?

You guys got it all wrong. Get rid of that 80 series altogether and put a bullet in its place like I did, 1 tail. You won't belive the power difference you'll feel like I did. The bullet isn't loud at low RPM at all, its actually kinda tame just a nice rumble. When you get on the throttle its a whole different animal LOL! This is good for keeping the neighbors happy. Its the best of both worlds! Just drive down your street slow and let it scream elsewhere because it gets real LOUD!

I've ran my car with open headers and it sounds SOOOOOO much better going through the bullet. With open headers it's just loud and rattles everything.. not to mention it sounds like ****. It is useful for scaring children however

The bullet muffler quieted it down a little, but if I floor it it'll raise the dead just like with open headers. It also toned it a LOT from open headers.

ok. i bought a bullet ($25 shipped). installed it yesterday. it is a little quieter. not a huge difference but it 'tamed' it down just a little. i can tell a difference when i'm cruising, its a fair amount quieter. or, resonates less, or something.
