best headers for $300 to $400

best headers for $300 to $400

my car has an exhuast leak at the stick manifold and i figured now would be a good time to get sum headers. what would be my best choice for around 300 to 400 dollars without air tubes but that comes with a y pipe? i am looking for primary sizes of one and fice eights or one and seven eights

SLP would be the only ones without an AIR tube. You may want to look at the macs which have a less obtrusive AIR pipe and or modifying a set of Hooker 2055's. Those three are the best headers for the money. Certain hedmans would be a close second.

You can get Hedmans w/o A.I.R., and a y-pipe to fit them (at least, they are supposed to have fixed their mis-match problem).

But, I'll cast my vote for 2055's. Best y-pipe out there - compare the pic in the link above to the Hooker below. Y-pipe remains 3" after the two sides come together, nobody else's y-pipe does that.

You can also cut off the A.I.R. tubes and weld them shut. Just do that before coating if you decide to do ceramic (ups the expense, but well worth it).
