I gotta 3.1 V6. Either at cold or hot, I hear a leak (kinda throaty sounding) under the plenum area.It does it at all speed ranges.It sounds kinda deep so I'm thinking its an exhaust leak.Its still the original stuff so maybe its about time for replacement,huh? I have replaced the pipe from the cat on backto the muffler, but not from the manifold to cat. Do the V6 engines have dual exhaust or is it just one pipe?I need help on this one.

you have two manifolds, one of either side of the engine. from those a pipe comes out of each and meets in a Y going into a single pipe which leads to the cat.

If you hear a "tick tick tick" noise from near the plenum, you might have a manifold gasket going out. Take it to an exhaust shop and they'll fix you up.
