Any other good 1-3/4" Long Tube Header options out there for 3rd gens???
There's obviously the Hooker 2210's which seem like the best option around. Kooks won't have any headers for 3rd gens unless someone in NY brought their car to them for a custom set. I know the Hookers flow great and have a great collector....but I'm just worried about how low the flanges hang. Is it something for me to worry about? Are there any other options out there to consider besides having a custom set made? I'm willing to throw down the coin.

How well do they flow in comparison to the 2210's? Any pics/links? I am looking for good headers that would let my 383 500HP motor breath.
considering the 2210's for now.

I don't know why Kooks won't start making a production 1 3/4" LT header for the 3rd gens....they've got a ton of headers for 4th gens. and even alot of headers for some obscure cars compared to 3rd gens. They do nice work...I've inspected the set my brother picked up for his 69 Cutlass and they are nice.

Yeah not too many companies have taken on the challenge of making good long tubes for our cars. i am going with 2210's and hoping for the best. I think it will all work out. I would love to have more options. Has anyone ever seen the hustler headers installed? I have seen them sitting around, and on ebay, but never in a car. I believe they are hooker. THX

expensive but very nice headers, specially the lemons headers.

Yeah Stahl are definitely out of the question....there's no way I'm going to chop the car up for headers.....the Lemon's are nice, but to have them Jet Hot Coated I be looking at close to $1400 for the set...more than double the cost of Jet Hot Hookers.
I'm not sure how much better the clearance is with the Lemon's either to justify the cost.
I'd like to stay under $900 or so for a set of Jet Hot coated.

if its a street car where ground clearance is a concirn, id get the headmans.... if its a mostly strip car, or its at full stock ridehight (and not saggy springs) then get the hookers.
only goto the other guys if you need a largeflange bolt pattern, huge tube setup...

Thanks for the info man.
That's pretty much where I'm stuck at. It's going to be a weekend only car and may occassionally make it to the track to find out some 1/4 mile times (and hopefully try to justify the loads of $$ that have been dumped into it LOL
Also I'm still unsure if ride height will be changing or not....it may be possible that I would want to drop it a bit to fit the fenders a little nicer. But the car isn't complete yet to be able to tell.
I've got a great local exhaust guy that I still need to speak with regarding building a 3"-3.5" dual crossover setup.
I believe both a 1-7/8" or even a 1-3/4 to 1-7/8" stepped header would be too large for a 383 with only around 550hp-500TQ, so I should probably stick to 1-3/4".
With that said....the only 1-3/4" Hedman option would be:
65165
I guess I should do a search on this to find some info.

Well I ended up finding a set of 2210's local so we'll see how these work....Hopefully I'll be able to tackle the job this weekend....
The car is definitely not going to be a daily driver, so I hopefully won't have to worry too much about ground clearance....
