Intermediate pipe for 89 dual cat setup

I purchased a car (89 formula 350) that already came with a borla muffler and tail.

Afterwords, I purchased the SLP 1 ¾ header setup that goes up to the cats.

Question I have is where can I buy a mandrel bent intermediate pipe without having to buy the muffler?

I see a lot of cat back kits but haven’t come across just the pipe between the muffler and cats.

Any info\ links would be appreciated.

Something tells me that you can order the pipe from Dynomax or Magnaflow or some place like that. I'll see if I can locate any info for ya.

Ok, here is what I found....

1989-92
Camaro, Firebird w/5.0,5.7 FI & MFI, eng. codes F & 8 (with dual catalysts) 2 1/2 int. pipe, tail pipes exit on opposite sides.

The number for the intermediate pipe is 46744. Unfortunatly as it looks, it may only be a 2 1/2 inch system for stock replacement. Now there is another option you could look into. You could try to look into a 4th gen setup with is set at 3 inches. Here is the link for the Dynomax info....

Dynomax PDF

That's all i could find right now. Someone else may know of another place to look also. Your other option also is to get a custom one done for ya.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was thinking custom as well. However, with dynomax in my mind, I did some more surfing looking for retailers and found one at summit thats a dynomax 3"

From what I gather I will need both components listed in the links.

Question is will it fit up to my Borla? At least without having to tweak it alot? Dunno???

Looks as though it should as the current pipe that is there looks like it is stock.

I really dont think anyone can answer that for sure unless I

A. Find a muffler shop that deals with dynomax and is willing to help me.
B. Buy the set and try it

Anyway, thanks again for the idea and direction. Its a start!!
