My new exhaust tips...

I decided to leave my stock cat and catback system on the car so it's quiet for the street. I'm going to install the SLP 1.75 headers and Y-Pipe, and put an electric exhaust cutout on the car just before the cat.

Since I'm keeping my stock exhaust... which is like new... I figured I wouls finish it off with a set of tips... got them from wal-mart for 20 bucks... And, before anyone says anything... I know, they are made for euro cars, or kids with honda **** rockets... but I needed something that would exit straight out because the tail comes down at an angle.

I took the whizzer and cut the tail down right after the bend and welded the tips on. Unforunately, the previos owner must have hit the exhaust on a curb or two, because the tail pipes/muffler dont sit straight.

Did the tips change the sound at all?

I had actually kind of looked at those. I'm getting ready to put my new exhaust on and the pipes have those bends. I think I am just going to aim them straight and cut off the bends.

Looks good though

still sounds stock, a little bit louder from behind the car only because the sound is traveling out twords the back instead of shooting down to the ground.

If you look at the side of the car, the tips are the same angle as the ground effects. They look like fake tips from the side because it looks like they come out of nowhere, haha

I prefer the stock look. As a matter of fact, when I swapped in my Hooker cat back, I used the stock tail pipes. I still have the Hooker tail pipes and tips (chrome duals, 3 inch). Should anyone be interested, please PM me.

Well, if you like the look, then they're fine, but don't use 'em just because they fit with the original angled tips. Take the time and have an exhaust shop weld on whatever tips you want.

I personally don't like 'em. Again, it's all what you like, but do it because you like 'em, not because it's "what fit", ya know?
