Header Bolts and Gaskets?

LB9 w/SLP Tri-Y Headers

I'm trying to figure out what is the best type of gasket to run and best type of header bolt as well. The SLP gaskets and bolts went about 3 1/2 years.

I've been reading that "dead soft" aluminum gaskets are the best. Is that right?

For the bolts, what are the bolts everyone here seems to have the best luck with? I'm running factory cast iron heads for now. I know ARP makes the best stuff generally but I've read about locking header bolts, whats the deal with those?

Thanks!

Alex

I got ARP 12-pt header bolts. They work great for me, I never had to retighten them even once since I installed my headers.
