Sound difference? Flowmaster and IMCO?

Is there much difference in the sound of the IMCO crossflow and the 80series flowmasters? I am needing and wanting another muffler. i love the sound of flowmasters. IMCO has the same basic design for 40 less. what do you guys think.

Of course, at "71" I can't/don't want to work myself on my three Camaros (this one a 89, my 88 V6..or, my 78 Z with huge tunnel-air snout)...I'm still a proficient jazz guitarist/singer, and I want my "fingers to still do the walkin'!

Exhaust system (really a loose term for "it", went kaafluuey this-morning...

1989 IrocZ (305)
bought a few months ago because it had air and electric windows (and damn...good shape, for $1400)....but...the exhaust system was s***,from day-one!!

I had a flowmaster, full-flow cat...and, of course, the "flowmaster cat-back exhaust kit ....with#40 muffler, installed
...money WAS an object...and at first I said "try to mend this morph exhaust system, and whenever I get the autotesting letter to show up at their exhaust station...only then, will I throw on a CAT and "real" exhaust "solution"!

They said: "everything is broken from the Y, back!!!....Whatcha wanna do??

and ....2.5 hours later (with my CarX working on it)....I had a deep throated FlowMaster/CatBack exhaust rumbling along to the chrome pipe end-pipes....in rhythm with my Head Unit and my Sirius Sattelite Jazz Stations. As a musican, I could DIG IT!

It wasn't cheap having someone else do it...but...it made owning my 89 IrocZ, even that much more enjoyable.

I have dual single chamber IMCO mufflers and they are great. VERY high quality for a cheaper muffler.

the IMCO's sound incredible!! Very throaty and gruff. Very different from the flowmaster. I will be getting them on my IROC next Spring and can't wait!
