Walker Exhaust System
I work at an auto parts store, so I get a pretty good deal on auto parts. I was in need of a new exhaust system for my 86 firebird with the 2.8, so I decided to take a look through the walker performance mufflers (dynomax), and I came up with an exhaust for an 86 Trans Am with the 305. I went with this because the pipe was a bit bigger that what I had (went from 2" to 2.25")
The muffler is called a "quiet flow" in the walker catalog. I mean, for 80 bucks for a muffler and the 2 tailpipes, I was sold. I had my exhaust guy fab up a straight section from the y-pipe to the muffler, and my dad installed it for me in his shop.
Unbelievably, the V6 doesn't really sound like a V6 when it is idling. I was amazed when I first started it up. I thought it would still sound bad like the old glasspack that was on there. I like it.
The Walker part numbers are -
43988 - tailpipe
43989 - tailpipe
22354 - muffler
