Hole in exhaust?
When idling there is a strong smell of exhaust in my car... when driving and let off throttle there is sort of a popping noise coming form what soudns liek the exhaust
any ideas on getting a deeper sound out of single into dual? i mean.. header to y pipe to single to flowmaster muffler with dual outlets? i heard a high flow cat is the key for those

that sound youre hearing is pretty normal. your engine is being forced through the power stroke at faster than it would be if you just revved it in neutral.
i would worry about a strong smell of exhasut unless its with your windows up. that is, unless you have the "vent" on your AC panel on. if it's coming through the ac vents, you may have a leak under the hood
you want deeper sound? go with a cutout. mine has a mccord power plate on it and i love it.

The popping sounds about right to me. Like it's backfiring a litle bit. My '87 v6 did that all the time. It's just the sound of teh spark plugs firing, I think. I'd say the exhaust smell is unrelated. To you hear any ticking coming from under the hood?

if you're referring to a popping after you let off the pedal, it's caused by the car running slightly rich, and the gas is rapidly expanding in the pipes. Nothing to worry about in that case usually.
The smell may very well be a leak somewhere. Have a look/listen around with the car running and you should be able to find it.

no ticking noise... its the worst when its cold... when it is warm outside than there is no smell. so im not to worried about it
