Any headers that sound like manifolds?
Call me crazy and I am probably the only one, but I HATE the way headers sound. Especially long tubes, however, I HATE how crappy stock manifolds and Y-pipe flow. Are there any headers that give the same sound, or as close to it as possible, as stock manifolds?
If you listen to the soundbytes of all the exhaust, the first one I believe is an L98 Iroc with stock manifolds and Y-pipe, hi-flo cat, and 3" flowmaster cat back. It is exactly how I want my car to sound...but with headers. IMHO, headers make the car sound tinny and raspy. But stock exhaust sounds very deep and like a roaring Tiger.
If not, I will just port the hell out of stock L98 manifolds and have a custom Y-pipe made.

I believe that is my sound clip you are referring to. I now have headers/Ypipe. I believe I would have the same sound (but louder) if I would have kept my convertor
. Raspy/tinny sound with flowmaster is usually do to a cat delete from what I hear.

Thats depends on which sound your talking about. If its the chkkty chk sound in the front of the car a good set of thick pipe shorties and having all the mounting surfaces clean and sealed will elminate this sound.
