Hooker 2055's

I wanted to get a set of headers for my 91 camaro 305 TBI and have read around here to decide what kind to get. I saw that the Hooker 2055's seemed popular and decided to check them out. Well why does everywhere I go say that they only fit up to the 1990 camaro? Is there a difference between the 1990 305 and the 1991 305? Any help would be appreciated.

The 2055s will work. No difference.

I think that's talking about the dual cat cars, for an RS it doesn't pertain to you.

The specific application for 2055's is '86-'90 TPI single cat. That's the cars that they will bolt onto and directly into the factory exhaust system.

If your car is not within that application, they will still bolt to your engine (if a Gen I SBC with factory type ports, and probably Gen II), and will fit the chassis. However, they will not bolt to your existing factory exhaust (or aftermarket replacement of factory type exhaust) without modification.

So, if your application does not fit within the confines of the above noted, then you will either have to modify your existing exhaust, or replace the rest of the exhaust with parts for the same application as the 2055's.

Hope that helps. That's pretty much the way I describe it every time the subject comes up.

I have the Hooker 2055 and all i had to do was go to a muffler shop and have them weld in a new cat to the y-pipe and that was final. By the way there AWESOME!!
