Some exhaust/headers question
I know its been asked before, but i am just trying to make sure i get all the right stuff...thank for your time i appreicate it!!
What iam trying to do is to put new exhaust and headers on my stock '85 camaro, I found that 2055 hooker headers would be a good choice,i went to their website but couldnt find the price? what they will cost me?
are those are the same? http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...l?v=1&pid=9293
Now i need exhaust,i probably should get flowmaster, but there is some diffirent ones i dont know which one should i got for? http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/inc/sdetail/9356
Is that all i need to do complete job for my exhaust system? and can i do it myself at home or there is some welding involved? What kind of problems i might run into?
And if iam gonna take to the shop to put it for me,how much they will charge??
Iam really hoping to spend no more than 500-600$ on everything...is that possible to cover it all?
Anyother tips would be helpful !!

Hooker headers from Jeg's (520-2055) $379. Catco high-flow converter from Summit (CTO-9118) $127.99. Hooker catback from Summit (HOK-16823HKR) $269.95. All direct replacments. Great flow, great sound. Recommended.

The summitracing.com p/n for the headers is HOK-2055HKR for the uncoated version. The "520" number looks like a jegs.com p/n.

listen up... i installed a set of hedman headers - thats what you should do.. and buy the ypipe that bolts up to it too..everything can be bought from summit for less than 200 bucks shipped to your house. then take off your cat and gut it... bolt up a nice flowmaster exhaust sytem (buy them for about 200 bucks now).. then bang.. for about 400 bucks in part and maybe 100 bucks ofsome welding.. oyur good to go. thats what i did - thats what you should do -easy to do and no problems

Thx for answers i see there is 2 options, they both sound reasonable, but if you say i can get headers and exhaust for ~500$ that would work out great, so here is the question if there is big diffirence between hooker and hedman? performance wise of course.
On this headman set up,could you say more specific about parts, ive looked up on summit they have a bunch of those diffirent headers.
It doesnt sound bad to go with hooker set up,i dont really have to buy new cat for 100+$ and their headers comes with ypipe too
how much you guys think they would charge at shop to put this whole exhaust for me?

The Hedmans mentioned won't have the A.I.R. tubing, if visual emissions inspection is an issue for you.
The Hooker 2055 y-pipe is the best unit out there. It is the only one offered off-the-shelf that is 3" from the point the two pipes come together.
A shop would probably need around $500 to do a complete install if they have any clue what needs to be done. If they're worried about possible fines they won't install it at all because it isn't a legal aftermarket replacement for an '85 LG4.
