Need some suggestions

Hey guys, been on the forums hidin in the shadows for 2 or 3 years and finally registered. I have a bone stock 88 gta that I just got through getting it all tuned up, and the first thing I was looking at getting was a cat back exhaust for it. I have read and searched for hours upon hours but havent come to any conclusion really. I have listened to all the sound clips I could find and even spent a great deal of time over at ls1sounds. Noise or drone doesnt matter to me a bit, I want something that will absolutely scream when you get on it. We have a couple lt1s and ls1s around town with flowmaster cat backs that think they are hot **** and I would like to make them seem quiet. I would like real loud and throaty of course, just not glasspack noise if ya know what I mean. The GMMG system is way to high $$$$wise for what you get. I looked at the loudmouth system posts and they all seem negative. I dont have a competent muffler shop around but do have a welder, so what ever I buy I'm putting on myself. Any suggestions? From April to Mid October I have the T tops off and want to hear it if you know what I mean. I've heard good about hooker but I dont know if it would be loud like the loudmouth when I get on it. Is there any cheap(er) way to do the GMMG exhaust yourself at home? Like less than 500 instead of 7-800? I hear alot about bullets but dont know if thats something I could do at home with a kit of some type or if I need a good exhaust shop which is non existant around here . Thanks for your suggestions!!!

I hate to tell you this but buy a new Ruatang because that exhaust sound is sick and can't be reproduced in a third gen

Flowmaster would probaly be your loudest regular muffler catback. Hooker has one of the best sounds, even if its not quite the loudest. Personally, any car with an aftermarket exhaust is gona be pretty loud...so i wouldnt worry about it.

There is a moderator on this site who made his own GMMG but he did it all himself and im not sure you'd be up to that. I think it cost him like 200-300$ IIRC.

One option you have is to make a custom exhaust with a bullet muffler but again, it would be custom and since you said you dont have a good exhaust shop i dont know if that would be an option.

So if your gona be doing this yourself your best bet is gona be either flowmaster, hooker, or even edelbrocks i pretty good sounding ive heard.

I'd say if you cannot contribute positively to the post and be helpful, dont respond.

a mack6-I love the flowmaster sound, but the hooker sounds better I do think. I'm good at fabing, I'm sure I could pull something off but just no ideas. I'm not running a cat so I assume that will help crank out the decibles?!
