Would change in exhaust raise rpm's/shift point
I was just wonder about this. My car has the stock exhaust with a hi-fow cat, and the L05. It normally would shift a WOT at 4,500rpm, but once in a while it revs to 5k and seems like it might go farther, until i let off. The y-pipe is leaking right at the convertor, do you think this might be contributing to this, as like a cutout would. Or do you think my tranny is about to give way? It doesn't really show any real signs of wear, except it takes an extra second to engage into Drive.

Has nothing to do with your exhaust. A cut out wouldn't do it either. Shift points are controlled by the TV cable and governor, not exhaust.

Well thanks for helping me out with that...So I guess maybe it is my transmission heading south then? Oh man, I hope not. Would the TV cable being out of adjustment cause the different shift points, and the delay from Park to Drive?
