Broken Studs
I have the 3.1 and I have a couple exhaust manifold bolts. My question is, is it possible to drill them out without taking the engine apart? I have a set of headers to go on and I need to get them out. Eather way I think I'll have to have a shop do it, I just dont want them to charge me for something they dont need to do. Thanks for any info.
Oh and I know a lot of you will just say to get a V8...not an option for me so dont suggest it.

on another note- just get a drill, drill those boogers out of there and re-thread it for a 3/8ths bolt w/ a 9/16ths head..- get a drill bit just about the same size as the bolt and try to be as straight as possible..- i had one of mine strip out inside, so i had to re thread it and put a longer bolt in..

I just didnt know if you could get a drill down there. So obviously if you could do it with your V8 I can do it. Thanks. If anyone else knows any more helpful info dont be a stranger. Thanks.
Oh and its not an option for a couple reasons--Money, Tools and space, and I want to see what kind of damage I can do with it. I will deffinatly be buying another Camaro with a V8 in it (love the Third Gens) in the future, but right now I will have to deal with what I have.

good new sharp drill bits
start small to get a pilot hole
spray em up
and maybe a right angle drill?
probably need a thread chaser afterwards too
sometimes heating the area with a torch before drilling can help loosen it up
just some ideas to help
