Exhaust meant for a 4th Gen?

So how hard would it be to make an exhaust system that was meant for a 4th gen worth with our third gen. The routing and bends are pretty similar. Would this work?

I want to be able to use the SLP Loudmouth system with my LS1.

all you need to really do is use the resonator from the loudmouth with a 3" intermediate pipe....an exhaust shop could make you a very tight dual outlet setup for cheaper than you think. im not talkin gangster tight, im talkin about the right fit....i hate exhausts on thirdgens more importantly un-tucked exhausts.

i have a 4th gen catback on my cat and all the shop had to do was install new hangers for the tips. which im taking off being as i hate the tips. im not sure if its just my catback or what but the tips hang down at an angle and it looks TERRIBLE, so im just going to cut them off for right now and then have some custom turn downs made like Kandied had on his car or also like the mufflex setup.

ive got a loudmouth, good choise of exhaust, hope u like loud. anyway it was a pretty simple install. theres an s shaped pipe that needs to be fabed up to connect the I pipe to the cat. the hangeres for the tail pipes need to be moved around a lil. i got the 3.5 inch slp slash cuts on mine and they are tucked up tight, almost touching to the bumper. the only thing i still have to do is bend in one of the tail pipes. the 4th gen rear section routes slightly differnt so one pipe angles out more. it makes the tips a lil uneven but it isnt that noticable, ill fix it soon. anyway tho its a pretty simple job that any shop with a pipe bender and welder should be able to handle. hope this helps.

when I did mine I did the full exhaust. all I did was buy a piece of 3" pipe. I oredered the magnaflow system then I ordered a 3" ball and socket flange from bassani. I was able to cut and weld the pieces that cam with the magnaflow and the section of 3" pipe I bought. adding in the ball and socket joint allows me to still separate my ypipe from the rear section if I need to change the starter or something like that.

basically you will just need to mess with the hangers and the mid pipe connections.

the magnaflow was too quite. I have a spintech stainless muffler in there right now it sounds good. If I was doing it over again I would get a loudmouth and throw a borla xr-1 muffler in the resonators place.
