Need help with exhaust/muffler
First of all, i'm glad to be a member of these boards because they have been a wealth of information.
Currently I am working on getting a new muffler for my basically stock 92 RS and my pipes are 2 1/4 inlet and dual 2 inch outlets, with one inlet and outlet on one side, and another outlet on the other side.
I can not for the life of me find a muffler to fit these exact same characteristics; searching Summit; etc, so i was looking at an entire catback in general. The problem is that i think my cat has a 2 and 1/4 outlet and i dont know how to convert that to 2 and a 1/2 inch pipe size, which is what the catback is. Where can the conversion be done and how?
Thanks in advance, and If i need to be clearer in my statement please tell me because i dont really know much about cars
*P.S. I was possibly thinking of removing the tailpipes all together and going for a center input/dual output muffler, but i am not sure if that is legal (NJ) or if it is bad performance wise

First off, don't bother with a catback unless it's a 3 inch catback. If you decide to do any more modding to your car, you'll be sorry you got something smaller. As for which muffler, that's your choice. Pick what you think sounds good.
As for changing pipe sizes, any good muffler shop will have a reducer that you can buy. Or you can get it from summit probably.

3 inch is the only way to fly. Probably save yourself some money and just get a high flow 3'' cat off ebay for like 40$ then buy a exhaust 3 in dual 2.5 out and have a shop weld in the pipe. Thats what i decided im going to do.
