broke pass side rear exhaust stud/bolt

well, in taking the manifolds off to fix the exhaust leak (installing felpro gasket) on the pass side exhaust manifold, the last rear bolt snapped and is stuck inside, nothing protruding to get a grip on. since i am puttting the manifold back on with the gasket, and all the other botls came out, will i be ok without that one bolt?

i have no idea on how to get at it the way it is. there is enough room to stick a wd-40/pb blaster sized can in there, so drilling it i don't think will work,

i'm just wondering if it will leak or if it will hold up without that one bolt in there.

what a PITA to take out. those two rear ones are no fun thats for sure.

that heat shield got all mangled up too
none-the-less, PB blaster really helped out.

any ideas on what i can do?
hopefully since using the exhaust manifolds, it will seal up, but not sure

getting to the bolt

I'm not too sure about running without that bolt. I may be wrong, but I don't think that new gasket will hold very long without the bolt.

That bolt is much easier assessed from the bottom. Remove the starter and you'll be surprised how much room there is. I'd reccommend using a right angle drill and an easy-out. You may even get lucky with one of those left handed drill outs by Craftsman.

Hope this helps.

i was kind of thinking the same thing, that it will leak very shortly without that bolt in. i think if it were one of the middle ones, it wouldn't be as bad

i started looking for some slim line right angle drills

i'll take a look at removing the starter too

what a PITA
i have it soaking with PB
had it soaking for a few days already
