2.5" or 3" Pipe
Hey, I have Hooker 2460 Headers and plan on purchasing the the Y-Pipe to go with, They enter the Y-Pipe with a 3" Diam, and exit with a 2.5" Diam.
I am debating on if I should go with the single 2.5" pipe all the way to the muffler, Single in 2.5" Dual outlets or should I increase to a 3" Pipe back to the muffler.
I plan on putting on a Magnaflow muffler, I can get it with 2.5" Inlet and dual 2.5" outlets or 3" inlet with 2.5" dual outlets.
Is there a noticable difference in performance in the 2.5" pipe and the 3" pipe?
I am worried about clearance with the 3" pipe.

3" pipe has no clearance issues. if you do go with the 3" catback, i'd hack the end of the y-pipe off and put on a 3" mandrel bend in it's place...but i don't know what your fabrication skill are like. the 3" pipe does have some pretty significant power gains over the 2.5"

How are Guys fitting True Duals under these cars? There is not a lot room.
I'm not much of a fabricator but will talk to the guy I had planed on using to finish the exhaust, see if he can build me a Y-Pipe cheaper than I can purchase the one from Hooker, or just Buy Hooker's and have him modify it for 3" Pipe.
