Y-pipe Touching the Oil Pan...This a problem?

I'm running Headman shorties with thier ypipe and it fit fine on the stock oil pan. New motor went in with a Moroso 6 qt pan and now the y pipe hits the front of the pan. Will this cause a major problem (like rubbing through the pan) with all the vibration?

Its a difficult place to beat the pipe to fit...I've messed with it a little and was lucky to get it to even fit (even though it will leak like crazy).
It is where the two pieces of the ypipe slip together so denting/bending it will prevent me from being able to slip the two pieces together and get them to fit onto the drivers side header.

Also something to think about is it will heat the oil up more depending on how much it is touching.

I ran into the same problem. Do it right and get a different y pipe made up. I tryed to bang it in, and it didnt work. I had to have a custom Y pipe made up. I wouldnt be worried about vibration, just be worried about heating up your oil.

Yea thats also on my mind. I want to grab an oil cooler anyway so this might be an excuse...

If I'm going to spend any more money on this exhaust I want to do it all right... LT's with a true dual setup and chambered mufflers. That's way too expensive and to be honest I don't know (or trust) anyone around town to work on my car anymore.

what i did to mine was saw into it and then bend the pipe to the desired angle then patch it with some old tubing i had around i did this in a few spots and got it off the oil pan it now rests on the k member this took a few hours but was worth it i also cut the 2.5 pipe off and replaced it with3 inch mandrell 90 and 45 looks much better now do you have any problems with your starter fitting

the oil will get hotter quicker but you shouldn't have a problem with it breaking the pan or anything.
