headers 90 degree angle

headers 90 degree angle
the guy who installed my headers put a 90 degree angle at the bottom to run the exhaust back and i was wondering if this was bad or what.
a couple of ppl said it was killin my compression but they said its the only way to go with headers.
if it is bad, would it be better to go back to manifolds with a bend?
