edelbrock tubular headers

i am lookin at purchasing a set of edelbrock tubular exhaust headers since i can find a 2.5" inlet and 3" outlet y pipe and not compromise a 3" system like with the hooker2640 and that is in my budget. does anyone know anything or have any experiences with these edelbrock headers on their performance? i would appreciate the info. thanx

Edelbrocks are great headers and in my opinion are up their with the best in terms of their construction.

I'd rate them up there with MAC's shorty-style headers. Very easy to install. Lots of clearance, and their coating is pretty good too.

For the money, they're hard to beat. I had a set on my LT1 and the performance increase was substantial. It definetely woke the car up. But really, any headers will do that over the existing stock manifolds.

I say go for it. They're a great header and well worth the money.

They're pretty popular around these forums as well, though most will certainly recommend the hookers over anything else. I can assure you, you won't see/feel a difference between the two, performance wise on a mildy modified 305/350 motor so the Edelbrocks would be just fine.

actually here is the complete run down on my new motor for my t/a

383, stock 350 rods, with 64cc combustion,200cc intake, 2.02/1.60 aluminum heads, hyperutectic pistons,(11:1), edelbrock performer rpm intake with edelbrock 750cfm performer carb, and .480/.480 lift melling cam. all internally balanced.

i wanted hookers of course who doesnt but i really dont want anything smaller than a 3" exhaustexcept for the inlet on the y pipe. i figure compromise that then i'll be compromising my maximum performance.

Unless they have updated them recently, I would disagree with you.

I have a set with AIR that I picked up very cheap to use on my car until I could afford something better. The AIR tubes stick down into the primary about 1/2" and the collectors are junk - pinched pretty bad.
