More Magnaflow

Just got a 4th gen LT1 Magnaflow system on my car had it home yesterday but it's back at the exhaust shop temporarily. Sounds real nice, and the quality of the system is excellent. I will post pictures and a sound clip (hopefully) tonight.

how did you get the exhaust shop to install all that without putting in a cat? Every place I talk to say that they have to put a cat on there.

Because they are the coolest exhaust shop in Wisconsin Haha, they do a bunch of custom work though. Most places won't but these guys will do anything you want. It's called "Checks Muffler". AWESOME service and work. Plus up here we don't have emissions testing or anything. I won't get any clips until the end of the month probably. But when I do I'll get some drive by's and all sorts of good ****.

could i use a different i pipe, out here in nyc they want an arm and a leg to change ur oil, i was curious if i can get a i pipe from lets say dynomax and just cap that wit the magna flow muffler wit the tail pipes. they should just make a kit to fit it already. they do 60s and to late 70s camaros and from 93 to 02, next they will offer o8 camaro exhaust and still no third gen kit.

Yeah you should be able to just buy the Magnaflow muffler and tips. Dig through Summit or head over to Magnaflow's site and see what they've got for just the muffler.

Heh, I totally know what you mean. They totally poo on us thirdgen owners I figured I'd get this put on and a few months later a 3rd gen exhaust system would be offered by them.

their was a thread a while back about a magnaflow kit.

I guess that the 4th gen setup will drop right in except for the hanger on the drivers side tip. But thats F#$% all to do.

Edit:

Heres a link. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/exha...ight=magnaflow

Mine wouldn't have lined up to where the cat would have been. From the Y pipe to the catback system was done by the shop.

Looks AWESOME! Way better than we could have done just trying to rig it up...i see he also welded the tips on also instead of using the pipe clamps...NICE. See you in a few weeks dude.
