Check out this exhaust!!

I found in on ebay. It looks kinda small to me. It might be old news, but what do you guys think?

It's unique, but that's really the only good thing I have to say about it.

The pipe is small, and the crimped bends are going to restrict flow. The "T" at the back is also going to cause a lot of turbulence that will restrict flow.

A design that would have the same type of unmuffled sound, but wouldn't have the terrible type of restriction as this would be one that has a rear section similar to the SLP Loudmouth.

Also, even if you want it loud, that 2 1/4" crimped pipe is likely to result in an exhaust that's quieter than a true 3" with a real muffler.

Cool idea in the "being different" point of view. But that 180 then T that the exhaust has to do it crazyness. Just crazy. No car that really wants flow will ever use that. I bet it sounds different though..

Just go true dauls all the way!!! haha. (adding my H-pipe this weekend)

Ummm yeah...Whats the point of having a 3" exhaust if your only letting 2-1/4 inch into it? Sounds to me like his "super custom exhaust" was simply an etempt to run bigger pipes off the stock Ypipe, whats the point? Plus its no mandrel plus its got that T... The guy clearly has no clue what hes doing. 3" ALL THE WAY BACK FTW!

yeah, he is totally nuts. Now that I look at it again there is no way that he thought about what he was doing. The over axle pipe goes right by one of the tailpipes, why not just go in there and leave it as a single exhaust and if you really want another pipe, just T it into the main one.

But anyways, at least he is not selling it for toooo much... I guess.

Yes he does. He's providing an affordable exhaust to people who want the look and sound of a big exhaust without the cost. I'll bet he sells a lot of them, especially considering how unbelievably cheap most thirdgenners are, and how most younger people are more concerned with appearances than performance.

didn't you just say "Also, even if you want it loud, that 2 1/4" crimped pipe is likely to result in an exhaust that's quieter than a true 3" with a real muffler."

and then you said...

"...want the look and sound of a big exhaust..."

So which is it? You think it is going to be sounding big or small?

Either way I really don't care. I think it is a joke of an exhaust. For that $ any competent exhaust place can bend some pipes and NOT sell you a muffler for that price. and thats not including shipping.

(man I must be really bored to be coming back to this thread)

I'm sure it's not as loud as my 3" spintech, but I'll bet it's still louder and more "raw" sounding than stock.

At a labor rate of $80/hr (I couldn't BELIEVE it when I saw the sign!), my local Monroe Muffler probably can't custom bend one for the same money, but I understand your point, and I don't disagree with it. I'm just pointing out that I'd bet this guy does ok selling them now and then, and the kids buying them are probably quite happy with them. Look through his feedback, he's sold a bunch of these and the buyers love them.

yeah. I hear ya. He probably does pretty well. To the absolulty untrained eye, one might acctually think it is a breakthrough in exhaust technology, hehe.

Anyways, I also agree that if the shops around you are insanely expensive, then this is a good way to go,

(if you just want sound)
