am I getting in over my head if I buy a used set of either 2055s or 2460 Hooker headers and try to make a new set in 1 3/4" pipes based off the same route that the pipes take? I have AFR ANGLE plug heads and my SLP headers have no clearance with them. Im running a 383 and I just dont know how much hp I will loose by stepping down to a 1 5/8" header. Eanyone ever make there own headers? is this something that seems fairly easy to do if I have a another set to go off off for angle and length?

 

If you're going to custom make them then you really don't need another set. Just custom make them to clear all the parts they need to clear. It's nothing too complicated if you have the time and equipment.
