can I cut 1" off the pipes on the 2210s

Is it possible to cut about 1 inch or maybe more off the primary pipes on the hooker 2210s in order to gain a little more ground clearance? They is a spot on each pipe where it is straight up and down and it looks like a good spot to cut out some material and then weld it back up togheter. Will this work? I already have ES poly motor mounts which raises the engine a little anyway. I am also running Eiback pro kit springs. I donthave theheaders in front of me to test fit and I really dont want to buy them and find out if wont work.

never tried it, but if you can cut the headers, put them back togeather, and have them still fit you should be fine, maybe get a second opinion first
