Intermediate pipes

I was hoping someone could give me a link for a mandrel bent 3 inch I-pipe. I need one for my exhaust project and its the last thing on my list. I did a search, but turned up nadda. Thanks alot!

WLK-43248 and WLK-44063 from Summit Racing. Both 3" mandrel bent. I'm just about to order these to finish up my exhaust project too. What kind of muffler are you running?

Sweet, I ordered those same pipes 2 days ago. Heres my setup that I have going in soon. Hooker 2055's and y-pipe, Catco 9118 high flow cat, Dynomax i-pipe and over-the-axle pipe, connected to a 3 inch powerstick chambered muffler in the stock location, turndown after the muffler. Its the same muffler Orr89RocZ is running on his car, except hes running his in the I-pipe. What setup are you running? Good luck man! And also thanks for the info!

yes, i believe those are for a flanged cat. I'm probably gonna order them today later on. Coated hedman headers, hedman y-pipe, high flow cat (probably gonna order the catco), the dynomax pipes, into a magnaflow muffler. Do anyone know if the catco will bolt right up to the hedman y-pipe?

Good luck on your exhaust, I know I'll be needing it! I'll post up some pics when im done.

I'm about to order some too. It's too bad nobody makes a 3" tailpipe that I can use instead of making my own. I want the tailpipe to tuck up real close to the bumper so that you don't see it.

I haven't decided on a muffler yet. Dunno if I want a chambered muffler or a spintech.

Just placed my order at Summit Racing, the long I-pipe was $97.xx and the over the axle was $57.xx.

unklechuckles19 - I'm not sure if the Catco cat will bolt up directly to the hedman y-pipe. I am not familar with that y-pipe. Maybe some one will chime in and help out.

Jim85IROC - Good luck on your muffler selection, to bad my exhaust won't be done in a while, or else I would post up some sound clips for ya. Not to sure if it would be accurate though considering I have an L69 and not an L98 hehe.

Get a local shop to make them up. That's what I did! Actually my whole exhaust was bent up by a local shop for $186 bucks including the 3" stainless tips.

The Hooker 2055's are awesome that's what I'm running. I sent mine out to airborne to get coated. Here's a bad pic.

I just ordered my crap today. Dynomax i-pipe & axle pipe, spintech muffler, and some 3" tubing (one with a 90* bend and one with a 45* bend) to make a tail pipe.

For what this crap cost me, I should have just gone with the 3.5" mufflex, but at least this way I'll retain some semblance of ground clearance.

Well I just got my pipes from Summit! I decided I would lay out the whole exhaust in my living room. Man I am impatient. The pipes look pretty good, although there is a dent I am concerned about in the over-the-axle pipe. Not sure if it was made that way, or I got a bad pipe. Can someone help me here? If you have the pipe could you tell me if there is supposed to be a dent about 4 inches long and about 1/4 inch deep in the middle of the pipe? Also if this is a bad pipe, would the dent really restrict that much flow? Heres the pic of the whole setup minus the muffler:

That dent is supposed to be there. It's just for a little more clearance above the panhard bar brace. Most cat-backs don't have it, but Hooker does for some reason or another (my Hooker cat-back has it too). It will not hurt flow at all, the general consensus on the boards is that it's too small and too far down in the exhaust system to affect anything, and I agree.

im ordering up my dynomax intermideate pip and the tail pipes and and te magnaflow mufller any one have problems installing two brands of exhaust

I wouldn't think so, I would just guess that the only thing that would matter is the diameters match up. AKA the I-pipe is 3" and so is the inlet on the muffler. If there is something specific about the setup you want to run, someone might chime in, or you could go and start another thread to get more attention for your question. Good luck!

heh so i get all my pipes layed out and i mesurre the inter midata pipe that goes into the mufller part its 2 and something and the mufller is 3 inch inside diamiter my question is can i get a muffler expander and open it up more or what

the dynomax over the axle pipe is 3 inch going into my muffler...could you have ordered the wrong pipe?

I am wondering what to go as far as headers and Y to bolt right up to 3" pipes. The 2044 hookers I am looking at are 2.5 out on the Y and comes with an intermediate which marks the price up 70 bucks. Any other solutions for 3" in 3" out Y's? I know I could cut the Y before it tapers and weld in a piece to the intermediate but it would be a waste of the spent money on intermediate...

Can you tell us the part #'s of the pipes you ordered? That would help us determine if you ordered the right pipes.

If you want headers and a y-pipe that will fit a 3 inch pipe, get the Hooker 2055's. They have 3 inch collectors on the headers and the y-pipe that comes with them is also 3 inches. That is what I would personally do if I were you. Good Luck!

Well, it depends. Is your stock cat 2.5 inches in diameter? And does it have a flange? If so, I guess your in good shape.

Yes, that intermediate pipe is designed to bolt to the stock cat with the 2-bolt flange on it.

If you've got an aftermarket slip-on cat like I do, you can simply cut the intermediate pipe right at the end where the flair is, and buy a 3" ID to 3" ID coupler at a local parts store.

I just built a whole new catback with the Dynomax I-pipe and over-axle pipe and spintech muffler. Everything fits well and it went together nicely overall, although I did have to fight with the coupler that goes between the cat and the i-pipe because the cat and i-pipe weren't lining up 100%.
