i'm trying to get my 88 GTA fixed up so i can get it inspected and registered. all of a sudden, my exhaust snapped clean off right at the joint of the cat to the y-pipe. the hangars are still holding tight, and my exhaust isnt about to fall off or anything, but i'm concered about passing emissions from not enough exhaust gasses getting all the way to the tailpipes. i honestly dont have the time/money to fix it correctly right now, so i'm hoping i can maybe band-aid it just by wrapping the pipe or something???

i'm going to a 'friendly' shop that will ignore the broken pipe and loud noise, but ill still have to pass the sniffer. especially anyone with knowledge of TX emissions (especially tarrant county), would be much appreciated
